This is a special private safari that combines the Northern Kenya destinations, Mt Kenya, Great Rift Valley lakes and the Masai Mara.
We visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Meru National Park, Aberdare National Park, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara National Reserve.
We begin our safari early in the morning by visiting Nairobi National Park. Pickup by 6.00 at your Hotel and drive towards Nairobi National Park (situated less than 7 km from CBD. The Park has three main Zones, dry highland forest at the western end, Riverine – forested areas to the south and Rolling Grassland which cover 98% of the park. Wild animals like Rhinos, Buffalos, lions, zebras, Masai giraffes and lots of bird life can be spotted here. After exploring the park in the morning hours until 1100am head straight to Elephant orphanage where you will have an opportunity to interact with the baby elephants until 12pm. We head out for lunch and later leave for Amboseli National Park. Arrive at our campin the evening for dinner and overnight stay. We shall be spending at Kibo Safari Camp or similar.
Early morning game viewing in Amboseli National Park will be the perfect time to catch a glimpse and photographing the highest peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is also the home of the famed Maasai people, those tall, proud nomadic warriors whose legendary prowess in battle and single handed acts of bravery in fights with wild animals has spread across the world. After watching the wild; herds of elephants, lions, giraffes and many more we return to the camp for breakfast. Alternativelyyou could leave after an early breakfast and ecplore up until 12.00 and return for lunch, thereafter leave for another game drive at ariund 4.00 AM for another game drive in the evening
Breakfast at the lodge or camp, optional visit to a Masai Village and depart for Tsavo West National Park. Enter through the Chyulu gate. Drive towards Shetani lava flow, ‘Shetani’ means ‘devil’ in Kiswahili: the flows were formed only a few hundred years ago and local peoples believed that it was the devil himself emerging from the earth. This vast expanse of folded black lava spreads for 50 sq km across the savannah near the Chyulu Hills, Proceed towards our lodge with game viewing en roue. You will be enjoying the scenic views of Chyulu Hills all along. Arrive at our lodge in time for lunch and relax along. Leave at 4.00 AM for another game drive in the Tsavo, if time allows visit the Mzima springs, an oasis of green in the west of the park that produces an incredible 250 million litres of fresh water a day. The springs, whose source rises in the Chyulu Hills, provides the bulk of Mombasa’s fresh water. A walking trail leads along the shoreline.Return to the camp or lunch for dinner and ovrnight.
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, depart for Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Lunch today is served at Salt Lick Lodge and a game drive follows in the sanctuary until sunset. Wild game residing at the Sanctuary include elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, Oryx, lesser Kudu and cheetahs. Overnight at the Salt Lick Lodge designed for lofty game viewing from its raised rooms and walkways.
Morning game drive in the Taita hills in search of elephants, buffalos and birds. Return for breakfast and thereafter leave for Tsavo East National Park, arriving at our camp for lunch. After lunch relax and await for late afternoon game drive and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Break fast and start of game drive en-route where you visit the different sections of the park especially the loop side of the park which is swampy and most animals are found there. Visit the pipeline area where most of Elephants concentrate since there are lots of water holes to do mud bathing. Later visit the Luggard falls and Yatta Plateau.Return to the camp for dinner and overnight
We leave early after breakfast with game viewing enroute, Our destination for today is Malindi. Arrive at our beach hotel by by lunch time,thereafter relax enjoying the white sand beaches and the resort’s facilities. Dinner and overnight will be at the resort
Spend these days enjoying the Malindi/Watamu. Optional activities can be planned at an extra cost. A visit to Watamu or Malindi National Marine Park, Vasco Dagma pillar and other attractions.
Wake up for our last day at the Coast. Prepare to checkout depending on your flight time and transfer to Malindi airstrip to catch your flight to Nairobi. On arrival at Wilson you will be transferred to JKIA to catch your flight back home
Wonderful KenyaIt was my first safari experience but I think that I made a good choice by choosing Ancient Wild Safaris. Mike was on-line since my first minutes in airport in Kenya and it was as a friendly support for a lonely stranger in an unfamiliar country )) Except safari he organized for me a lovely tour to a tea farm for less money. Cyrus - my safari-guide was polite and well mannered man with sincere love for animals (sometimes it looks like he admires of wildlife more than I do)). Safari was well organized, with a good choice of hotels, in one of which I saw a leopard coming to the hotel for feeding, and in another hotel - a sweet couple of lions coming to the watering place or just for a romantic walk )) For 3 days we visited Amboseli and Tsavo East and West. I did not see only a rhino, but for this I had to go to Masai Mara. Maybe other time ))! And I sure with Mike and his excellent team!
Excellent safari10 out of 5 stars. Literally. As a ridiculously seasoned traveler, and someone who had already been to Kenya, I'm still mesmerized about how I could still be thrilled by a trip that I have already done years ago. (although nothing years ago was as good as this trip--not even close). I wish I had done my first trip with Ancient Wild Safaris. My heart is so happy that I brought my 10-year-old daughter and my husband on this trip. As a pediatrician in New York City who talks to hundreds of families every few months, I have told everyone in New York City about this trip because so many people defer to me for travel because of my experience --and I must say that I am still so indebted to this group because of the seamless experience, comfort and most importantly, first class service that AWS has given us.
